Bankstown, Greenacre: Six charged in alleged cocaine supply bust

Detectives have charged six people, seized firearms and $600,000 in cash following a major investigation into the alleged large-scale supply of cocaine and ice across Sydney’s southwest.

Strike Force Daniel was established in June to investigate the alleged supply of prohibited drugs across the Bankstown area.

Investigators executed seven search warrants at homes at Bankstown, Greenacre and Carramar from 6.30am Thursday.

Police seized more than $660,000 in cash, a loaded revolver, a sawn-off rifle, two semiautomatic pistols, five replica firearms, a laser scope, mobile phones, a Toyota Corolla and more than 520 rounds of ammunition.

Up to 425g of cocaine and 25g of methylamphetamine were also found, with a combined estimated street value of $250,000.

Five men and a woman were arrested and taken to Bankstown Police Station.

A 27-year-old Greenacre man was charged with 32 drug and firearm offences.

A 39-year-old Carramar man was charged with 19 offences including four counts of possess unauthorised pistol, deal with property proceeds of crime and two counts of goods in personal custody suspected being stolen.

A 41-year-old Bankstown man was hit with 12 charges including supplying prohibited drugs, participate in a criminal group to contribute to criminal activity and deal with property proceeds of crime.

A 24-year-old Bankstown woman was charged with 10 offences including participate in a criminal group, supply prohibited drugs and supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis.

All four were refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Friday.

A 28-year-old Greenacre man was also charged with charged with goods suspected stolen in/on premises (not motor vehicle) and two counts of possess prohibited drug.

A Greenacre teenager, 19, was also charged in relation to the alleged criminal group facing offences of possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, possess/attempt to and prescribed restricted substance.

Both were granted strict conditional bail and will appear at Bankstown Local Court on February 3.
